MESN Celebrates Earth Day 22nd April' 06

Mumbai Environmental Social Network (MESN) in collaboration with Petroleum Conservation Research Association (PCRA) celebrated Earth day on the 22nd of April' 06. The complete event was managed by students from various colleges doing their summer internships with MESN.

Our basic objective was to highlight global environmental concerns with a Mumbai specific perspective.

Issues covered ranged from the high traffic congestion, rise in pollution and awareness about alternative modes of transport such as car-pooling. MESN is currently enabling car-pooling in the city using simple technologies like SMS and internet. As part of the process MESN spoke to visitors at Phoenix Mills.

The stall was open to public from morning 10 till late in the evening. There was music and quiz contests with attractive prizes to be won. There was an overwhelming response from the crowd and MESN was successful in achieving its objective.
