MESN
stall at St. Andrews College festival
From Aug 31 – 1st Sept MESN put up a stall at the intercollegiate festival of St. Andrews
College with the intention of spreading awareness amongst college students. With the recent
ban on plastic bags in the backdrop cloth bags were kept for sale. The response from teh
students was lukewarm but provided a good insight into what ticks with college crowds.
Some pictures from the stall.

Demonstration
by activists against Ganesh Naik statement
In August 2005 the Environment Minister of Maharashtra
made a public statement that all the open spaces in
Mumbai should be sold and the proceeds be used to
pay the humongous state debt, which now stands at
Rs. 1,50,000 crores! In protest against the statements
a group of activists from various NGOs held a protest
out side Mahalaxmi station on 27th August in the backdrop
of the Race Course. Following are some pictures from
the protest.
